I tried to focus on the eye but with all those hairs and the dust stuck in them it was near impossible, the lighting is not brilliant either as I was using my MR14; it wasn't giving much light on the subject as the butterfly's head was so close to the lens it was vertually behind the flash. I had a 13mm tube and a 21mm tube on the lens which was at 5x; don't know what that works out at, there's no cropping just very slight sharpening and a re-size for the forum. No attempt at composition; just wanted to see how close I could get and still be able to recognise the subject, not much DOF but that's not a big suprise is it.

I tried putting extension tubes on my MP-E 65 some time back but I found far too much curvature at the edges. It looked rather like a fisheye so I wound up selling the extension tubes.

I know it's a little hard to tell but there doesn't seem to be any curvature around the edges on the above shot.

Very cool shot Mick. A tad dark, but very cool.

Yeah! it is a little dark Gary. I'm sure the MT24 would have thrown more light on the subject than my MR14 Ring Flash.
