I just raised my rates, and booked three weddings! YEAH! So I decided to buy the 24-70mm F/2.8L My first L series!!!! It's $984 on B&H Has anyone been to the WPPI trade show in Vegas? Are there going to be great deals there? Should I wait? If I wait I won't have much time to play with it before the weddings, but if I could get if very much cheaper I would definately wait. Does anyone have any experience shopping at WPPI? or want to want to give this little lens to me for my birthday that was a couple of days ago? (I can't imagine why my husband didn't get it for me????)

Very often B&H has promo prices for some items sold to special interest / professional groups who have seminars, using a code. (You search B&H, using that code as the search, and you get the items listed with the special price)

Thanks for the tip Wilt, but the $984 is with a B&H coupon code. I'm really trying to find someone who has been to WPPI? Anyone? Anyone?

For the most part, company reps aren't there to make "retail" sales. They're there to showcase stuff and get you to be a re-seller or distributor for their product. Think "Business Deals" not individual buyers.

I'm selling this lens for $900 if you're interested. It's listed in the Marketplace.

I haven't been, but I'm going this year (AND I'M SOOOO EXCITED!!); I had that same question and a fellow photographer here says B&H always has deals at the show, and he has saved quite a bit of money buying there over the years. That's all the info I have.
