Is there anything more that I can do to eliminate the reflection that I am getting off the eye? I know it is not the sharpest of pictures, still try to come up with a better way of lighting up the area that I am focusing on without adding to my reflection woes.

Maybe using an external slave flash instead of mounted on the camera. ?? The angle and distance would have to be found through trial and error. That's my 2ยข. :)

Thank you macro junkie, I am using my 430ex on my Delta grip.

Tumana, I am going to have to do some more trial and error. Possibly bouncing light off the ceiling from behind her so the reflection is not there. I will mess around with it some more and get some more pictures up.

Not sure it's much help but you actually get more reflection in natural light (ie a reflection of you taking the pic) but as suggested and as you are doing there may be a flash position where the camera will not pick up it's reflection but probably nowhere near the camera as the eye acts as a wide angle convex mirror.

Dark room with light bounced off the ceiling and a black backgroup behind you.

Thanks Brian and Ed.
I am going to get one of those remote triggers for my 430ex right now I only have the off shoe cord and I am not sure I can get that far enough away from her eye to not show up. I will try bouncing the light from the work lamps I have off the ceiling, and I am sure I can scrounge up a black sheet to place behind me. I will post up the 2nd attempt when have some time to do the shoot.
But thank you all again for the advice and the ideas. ;)

By bounced off the ceiling I meant behind the subject. Keep in mind that the human eye is a SUPER L lens...:) and will reflect even minimal lit objects.

Yep, I just assumed that is what you meant, to place the work lamps behind her and bounce the light off the ceiling. But thank you very much for trying to make sure I understood.
