Where is the website that has the reviews for Camera sellers.

The publisher of the magazine I work for is about to purchase from;

Express Cameras

http://www.expresscameras.com/welcome.asp (external link)

I've recommended that he not since the deals are "to good to be true".

I've suggested B&H and Adorama if he is certain he wants to buy online.

Thanks!

Have him check out http://www.resellerratings.com/ (external link)

He'll find that Express Cameras has a customer satisfaction rating of 0.67 on a scale of 10.

I hope you're able to convince him to go with a reputable online dealer. :) Have you read some of the comments from the Express Camera customers. :)

Yes, I've read them all.

I only buy from B&H or my local store. 90% of the time I buy from my local dealer and I pay more. I do it because I need the support, I've more than made up for "savings" with the support my local dealer has provided.

Personal, first hand, recent experience as in Dec. 2007; Cameta Cameras.
No bait and switch.

HOWEVER...they did not once tell me that if you add to the order even if they have not *shipped* it yet...that will add one more day to the shipping time.
So if like me...time is of the essence and you several times mentioned that you needed it by such and such a date and that is why you specified 2 day...you will find out that you will have to pay for next day (you find out days later when you don't receive your confirmation in time).

But from a fly by night, bait and switch, bogus pricing send you a refurb when you expected brand new...stand point...they are straight up. None of that common crap on the net. And their pricing is pretty good.

Lotsa stuff, running outta room and a wife...I keep looking at her and wondering???

Make sure to check this site before placing an order from any stores in NYC.

I think the point Bamamike is making is that these types of threads and this particular online retailer comes up all the time. After a few people respond and advise the OP to stay away and stick with a reputable dealer, the thread has pretty much run its course.

I've made a purchase through Express Camera and will never use them again. Personally, I only use BH now, although I know there are some other good suppliers out there.
