Is there an alternative to the Canon Remote Capture that offers some more functionality ?

I have a 10D which I purchased knowing it was faulty. It wouldn't auto-focus and you'd have to manually stop it down. That was fine as I wanted it to go on the back of a telescope and that put it within my budget. It appears that none of the push-buttons on the back work either.
I can pretty much set everything I need to through the Canon Remote Capture Utility. However, I'd really like to enable the Mirror Lockup option in the Custom Functions. Is there any way I can do that through the USB port ?
Is that level of control made available in the SDK ?

Thanks,

Steve.
