Yes, I have a grip for my 30D - it is sitting in my closet. I am unhappy with the way it feels - I don't like the design. -Ryan

I find it a nice feature to have, and I occasionally use the vertical release. But, I still find myself using the horizontal shutter release, even if I am shooting vertical. Michael
