Got one for my XTi. I use it almost 100% of the time. I only take it off if I want to do some light shooting and don't feel like lugging around the extra weight. I like the feel of the grip a lot better than without it.

Oddly enough, EVERY camera I own has a grip; A-1 (Motor Drive MA), D30 (BG-ED), 1v-HS (PB-E2) and 1D2N (though this one isn't removable).

I bought one second hand for my 40D just in case I didn't like it but I love it.
I take many more photos portrait style now and it does make the camera look more impresive !!

My only gripe is the lack of autofocus button to acompany the exposure lock.

Just got one for my XT and I don't know how I lived without it. It makes shooting much more comfortable (especially portrait) and as a bonus it also makes the small XT look a little more impressive ;).

I've been leaning towards keeping my grip off lately. When shooting events I always put it on. That helps so much for portraits and the extended battery life is a + (with AA option)

However when going out for personal shoots I like to keep things low profile. I don't need people getting out of my way. Even around my condo everyone says "whoa what do you need that big of a camera for"

Sometimes I wish I had a grip, but then the whole point of the 5D was to create a lightweight & smaller FF body over the 1D series, with a grip that difference narrows considerably.

Of course the fact that my camera bag would also need upgrading might have something to do with it as well ;-)a

Yes I have one on my 400D. I held off buying it for over a year, thinking it was of little use and that I would be better spending the money elsewhere but having read so many positive comments I bought one and now love it.

I love holding the camera in the portrait orientation as the grip feels much better and deeper than the one built in to the camera. :D

Yep, grip all the way. Probably compensating for something, but I love the added size.

I got one after about 2 months of getting my XTi, and it hasn't come off since, I like the way it feels and the portrait style buttons come in very handy!

I used to have grip on XT, but I didn’t like how it looks and feels on 40D, so I’m gripless for the time being.

What we see depends mainly on what we look for.

Same here. Just got one for my XTI. It makes it alot more comfortable. My 430ex and 17-55mm IS get a bit heavy. Since I'm planing on picking up a 70-200mm 4L later, the extra grip space will help. My GF now thinks it's a monstrosity, especially when comparing it to here SD1100IS. lol
