Challenge #106 - Chairs

For my first hosted challenge I would like to engage your creativity. I want to see pictures of chairs, but please pay careful attention to composition and framing. Any kind of seat is admissable, not necessarily just for one person. Can be inside or outside, manmade or naturally formed, specifically designed for the purpose or impromptu. Wacky and off-the-wall interpretations of "Chair" are welcome, but if they are very abstract, a well chosen title or description might help me see it! Please do give your photo a title anyway.

I will try my best to give good feedback for every entry, so hopefully there will be plent of submissions to keep me busy!

Results after the photos.

Some comments and my pick:

A Walk in the Park - Interesting subject, and I like the faint shadow on the right of the chair. I think maybe cropping some of the height out so the chair took up more of the vertical space would have made it easier to see the detail. Also, I know you sent me a PM with a larger image, but it was still only ~650px, while the POTN rules say it has to be 800.

I can only imagine... - This is exactly the kind of thing I was thinking of when I set the subject, interesting angle and composition with the chair filling the frame - glad you switched it from the earlier entry! :)

Morph's home ... at night - Wow, that's a trip down memory lane! (Don't know if Morph was shown outside the UK, he was an animated plastercine puppet.) I like the rough edges of the chair, and the lines cut into the back, and the jaunty back left leg is cool. Something about the composition bothers me a bit - it's not quite central, but not decidedly off-centre either.

Strange Way to Sit in a Chair - Excellent use of the subject as a prop in an unconventional manner - looks like it was a bit tricky to get in and out of that position! The only thing I could say against this is that it is a little cluttered behind his head, though as the chair leg is in line with his chin and the other chair legs I wonder if this was intentional?

Thanks to all of you for taking the time to come up with something for my uninspiring subject, I'm glad you did as they are all interesting and original. My pick as winner for this week is Blast, and the runners up are, in order of entry, blindz24, BBoi and Edd S.

Challenge #107: take it away Blast.

Benarnold,

Thank-you very much. I struggled with this topic for sure as you could tell by three different photos. It was a challenge for sure. I was glad to see the rest of the folks enter this morning as I thought it was a good topic. They were all good shots. Its obvious that Bboi had some work to do on his entry. Well done everyone.
107 up shortly.

Just trying to think outside the box really, plus there were only 2 entries and the midday deadline had passed, so I decided to make up the numbers. I really struggled with this one, and boy did I take a lot of pics, trying to get a good angle, to no avail. The blu tack was a last minute flash of inspiration. The slight off-centre was on purpose though :p - thought it would register on the brain and make people look again, I tend to try and do that in most pictures, but sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't - hehehe.

Morph, I loved morph as a kid ... i'm surprised it turned out as well as it did. The 'stage' or 'set' if you will was a white windowsill, and using a black binoculars case for the background. The 'dramatic' light was provided by nothing more than an LED torch.

Said Blu tack is now holding up a poster over the computer - hehehe - one day, I may use it again. - until then, bring on 107.

Hi all, well done the last few weeks, work has been burying me lately but I'll try to keep posting a bit when I can. BTW, Morph was on in the pm after school here in Australia a couple of decades ago.
