Yeah I'd love MMS too, but I can live without it. I'd only use it a few times a month probably. Adding websites to the home screen rocks though!

Yeah, I don't even use it that much LOL, so I could definitely live without it. I want to buy an iPhone, but my t-mobile contract is still valid until December, so unless I can get out of that, I am stuck.

Do you like your iPhone?

But then I cannot update it, and some of the features will not work. And I woudl have to find one with the old version of firmware to be able to unlock it.

What I really need to do is try to find someone that I can transfer my contract to. And find a Cingular contract so that I do not have to have a full 2 year contract.

I'm a PC guy but the Mac Book Air would be the first Mac I would consider purchasing.

Honestly, I love it. Pure evidence of technology improving for the better.

I watched the video about the MacBook Air, and this thing is crazy! Has the same pinch/zoom/swipe capabilities on the touchpad just like the iPhone. Plus they got rid of the optical drive (bad move maybe?) but all the wireless technology to compensate is just ridiculous. I'm pretty much convinced on getting a Mac as my next computer, Microsoft never offers innovation like this.

that's because we wanted to see a sub notebook, not a thin notebook.

My problem with this is you get a weight savings, and that's it. it's not any more portable than a macbook really. There's a reason those other guys sacrificed the keyboard size... to make it smaller to carry.

Now, one can get into an argument of how small is too small for usefulness.. but I think the purpose of the small subnotebooks is shown best in the Asus Eee PC's. quick web stuff and documenting on the go. that is what I want when they improve on the screen and battery life.

the other gripes about this.. no user replaceable battery, pidly slow 4200rpm drive... no firewire!?!? did we just lose target disk mode.. something very useful.

I dunno about this one. The battery, RAM, and hard drive are sealed up in it like an iPod which makes upgrading and even getting a new battery a hassle...

Good thing they made it so "recycle bin friendly!" I'll pass...

Not sure what to do with this space yet... but in the meantime, here's my Little Bitty Gear List:lol:

Oh, and here is my flickr (external link) if anyone is interested! And my very INACTIVE Model Mayhem (external link)

i am an apple fan, and normally am excited to see new products released, but when i saw this on their site today once i read the specs i was entirely unimpressed. i dont see what the point of a thinner more expensive mac book is. If it had tablet functionality, or was a true 12" or smaller ultra-portable i would be more impressed, but truth is the mac book is already not too large or unwieldy, i would just save some cash and go with the mac book.

That seems to be what most are saying.

If you want to experience a mac then buy a "proper" full beans mac, like a macbook or iMac. The "unupgradeability" will drive you insane in a few years.

My PowerBook has been through two batteries as they don't last forever, I couldn't imagine how much it would cost to send the Air in for a battery change.
