OT: Snow's coming...

Quick question. I've seen some wonderful shots of couples/singles taken during a snow storm. My question is how do you protect your equipment while shooting in snow. How much snow could my 5D take before I run a chance of repair bills?

Shooting in the snow isn't a real big problem...I usually carry a couple of small towels with me and occasionally wipe things down. The snow is typically far less of an issue than rain would be.

A very inexpensive option to keep things dry involves nothing more elaborate than a clear plastic trash bag and a rubber band. Just make a hole in the bottom of the bag, stick the lens through and wrap the rubber band around it near the hood. Pull the bag down over the camera and you are good to go. You can see through the bag to change settings and everything inside stays nice and dry in anything shy of a hurricane!

I got a couple optech rain covers from ritz camera online for under $10. Haven't used them but they're easy to store and look decent enough
