Going through old photos to process, since I haven't been able to get
out lately. These are from June of last year, I believe. Hung out with a
friend skate boarding and met some of his friends along the way.
Kinda turned into a impromto shoot. C&C always welcomed, edits are OK.

Your pics are nice and sharp but the backgrounds are confusing to me. Could be due to my old age and lack of knowledge of the sport! The fourth pic is a great closeup.

Like its a mini-park in the downtown area of town; it has alot of brush and lush grass
with a water fountain, benches, tables, etc. It has steps leading down to the street - about
a 4-5ft difference in height. They were trying to see who could jump the stairs w/o crashing :)

VERY nice images. Exposure is beautiful and action is solid. The last one really stands out since it's there that you isolated the skater the most (speaking more of the background than the crop). Well done and thanks for sharing. Would love to see some exif info.

Technically you've got good stuff, exposure, colour, Focus...

But as far as skate photos, they lack composition, you cant see what they are doing (how high, how many stairs, etc...), the landing's not in the photo. There's nothing exiting to them (skateboarding wise).

I'm telling you this from a skateboarding perspective. If your trying to be all artsy or just simply capture moments for personal appeal, then disregard my opinion.

I'd mos def would pick up a mag, peep out some good comp ideas.. See how they do it ...

I'm not trying to shut you down in any way just offering my perspective. Keep shooting!

Thanks for the comments all :)
Pakololo - Thanks for the critique. Another reason why I like this forum :)
Always helpful advise and critique. Nothing like "ugh! its horrible!" without
a explanation of WHY. I really want to get out to this one local park where
a friend works (and rides BMX in between the skateboarders) to get pictures
of him. I'll keep this in mind if/when I can go out there to get pics.

The last is the best shot, focus and colour excellent, but is the rider on the ground or ten foot above, just no scale of the height.
With third shot the red car takes over this picture.
