Everyone should be at an angle toward the camera. That gives the image some perspective and doesn't make women look wide. Benji has put out a wonderful tutorial on portraits. It is very sharp, the people, not as much. You'll often have this problem if 1) you have a very "busy" background, and 2) you use all of the AF points rather than just the center AF point. Tim
