hey everyone, I am going skiing in France soon and wanted opinions as what would be the best lense for a range of scenarios, I have a canon 350d, but only really wanted to take one lense, I think I would need it to have zoom and be wide angle. A kind of "can do everything" type of lense with out breaking the bank!!!

Any suggestions would be helpfull.

Thanks.

Boy, skiing on vacation. Trying to travel light. I'd suggest a good P&S camera.

The Sigma 17-70 is a good choice.

thanks for the replies, i was thinking of either:

1. Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
or
2. Canon EF 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 IS USM

After reading reviews and speaking to people I am a bit confused over the 2 lenses above. Both seem to have good points.

any opinions as to what would be the best out the 2 and what I could use on a day-to-day basis after my holiday.

Thanks
