I'm considering upgrading my 300D in the near future, and I'm considering the 40D. I haven't been around in a while and was wondering the overall consensus on the 40D.
Thanks in advance

If you keep waiting you will never get anything. Undoubtedly one or two things will happen when you make a purchase regardless of timing. They will drop the price 2 weeks later or a new model will be released soon after purchase.

See how it feels, how it handles. Bring a CF card and take a few shots with it. Get a feel for the camera.
