HI,
I'm in Iraq, I put my night vision goggles in the same pocket as my camera (in it's case), so that I could climbed up a ladder and ...
Now I have a multi-colored lcd screen.
How, from whom, and at what cost do I get a replacement lcd?
It will have to be from someone that ships USPS to an APO address.
I appreciate the help,
roger

Have you tried calling cannon? I guess I am not sure about where all they ship but I got one from them when I called at 732-521-7007. If they won't ship there I guess you could always have someone forward it to you. You might also have some luck with ebay. I put up a blog about how I repaired my sd600 and someone recomended this ebay seller:http://myworld.ebay.com/darntoothysam (external link).

If you want to see some photos of the repair process for a sd600(which is pretty much the same as the sd1000):

SD600/SD1000 repair (external link)

There is also some other instructions and places to look for parts listed in this older thread.

https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=7839

And good luck.

I would love to hear if the sd600 instructions are applicable to the 1000.

The SD1000 has gotten so cheap you might be better off getting a new one... Its been on sale for $150 a bunch of times recently. Check on www.bensbargains.net (external link) or similar deal sites. Stay safe over there!
