My partner Carolyn spotted this cute Water Rail out at about 1.30pm at Far Pastures Rowlands Gill Gateshead Tyne and Wear yesterday, and we were surprised that it gave us a 20 minute showing, as weve been told they are a very shy bird.

What a cool looking bird. Nice shots but there seems to be some color cast to them, but it could be my monitor.

Congrats on the sighting. What a beautiful bird.
The rails in my area are extremely shy. Seeing one in the open is already rare, let alone photographing one.
