Manfrotto monopod support bracket?

Anybody have experience with this product? Its rated for 4.4lbs and
if I'm right then my XT + either 50mm or 18-55mm lens would be fine on it.
Would be used with mirror lockup & (wired) remote for landscape pictures.
Mostly sunrise/sunset type stuff where I want a slower shutter speed,
as slow as 3-5sec give or take. Any thoughts?

Just blew my monthly budget with a few spare CF cards & batteries
so a tripod is out for now. Just kinda curious about it

Works pretty well if you weight the 'pod with a bag/rock or whatever. Or if your on a beach push it into the sand. But it's really just an expensive bent wire coat hanger.

I'd save for a tripod. Otherwise, look in to using a beanbag, or a cheap tabletop tripod.
