Anybody else experience a loose fit with the new 580 hotshoe attachment?

Mine is really pretty loose, to be brand new.

Did you tighten the screw knob at the foot (580EX) or slide the lever all the way to the right until you heard a clicke (580EX II)?

Sorry, didn't clarify that.

580EXII.

Slid it all the way and it clicks in place securly and won't fall off, but is quite loose. Don't know if it will be a problem or not, as the flash works fine. Just a bit of a worry there. Didn't know if this was normal or maybe a QC issue.

It looks like my 580EX II has a little free-play, too, in that it will move a little when I try to twist it left and right. But it's nothing I'd worry about.

Now that I think of it, just about all of my flashes have some degree of free-play when I try to twist it from side to side.

Thanks. I was just worried that it wasn't tight like a normal flash mount.

Nope, my two are WAY tight on everything I have put them on. Sometimes I think its going to break its so tight and sliding the lever to the right gets a little tough.

Are you talking about the lever being too tight or the flash fit in the hotshoe?

Mine is loose and when I turn the camera to vertical it will not fire on my 1DMKIIN, it does work on my 30D.

Both are extremely tight. I dont seem to have any wiggling of the flash when its mounted and "clamped".
