Well, the trip to Trustom NWR was a bit of a bust the light was already gone by the time I got down there, and the bald eagles have definitely left so I spent some more time out back with the little guys, and so it was a nice day after all

Great shots Hali...the colours are really nice and it looks like they both let you get pretty close. The first shot is a Downy woodpecker.

Thank you both for looking and the feed back and I knew they were downy's but my brain got stuck on Hairy. They are pretty tame, they're used to me working in the gardens under their feeders and tree's so they scatter when they first see me come with the camera but quickly return.

These are both stellar portraits. Sharp focus, nice comp and the subtleness of the BG really makes these guys pop. Well done.
