I recently created a series showing young adults and the objects they have chosen to keep since they were younger. These objects not only offer security but hold sentimental value and remind these people of what home smelled like.

These are just a few of the digital light checks I shot before I shot them with my Hasselblad. I tried to keep the lighting real subtle in these, I aimed to shooting these in a more editorial fashion. The last picture are the Hasselblad photos matted for my final presentation.

Tell me what you think!

Great idea and I really like the pictures in the black and white as shown in your last photo. The color ones don't really do anything for me. But they all seem well executed and perfectly sentimental :)

I also forgot to mention the reason for 2 pictures is I shot the person with the object and then the object alone. So, they are presented in a diptic style.

I really like what you have done with it. You carried it out from idea to conception, great follow through.

Dude, if you're showing off pics taken with a Hasselblad, could'nt you figure out a better presentation than your bed? And not made up well at that? Sad, really sad.

I complement your attempt and the original idea, it seems a waste to me to use such expensive equipment to churn out box brownie black and whites. Then again, to be honest, I'm not a fan of black and white in a color world, jm2c.

First of all, cameras are only tools, they don't define skill level.

Those were shown in a gallery, not just on my bed. Those are the only pictures that I have of the display. They are 8x8 matte prints, mounted in white matte frames with foam core backs.

Plus, they are not brownie photos, they are classic black and white portraits, which never go out of style. The only justifiable way to mount and display them would be plainly on white. Anything else would take away from the photograph.

Thanks for the other compliments though! :)

Also, forgot to mention, I will post actual scans when I get a working computer. Currently I am on my friends laptop. :)

I shot through a 32" inch umbrella with a Nikon SB-26. There was very little flash output, I tried to keep the lighting real subtle throughout the whole series.

I am a huge fan of Black and White in a color world;) Sometimes the color interferes with the concept...

I think this is a great subject! I look forward to the scanned photos......

Hasselblad doesn't have to sit in a corner until the "proper" photo opportunity....use it as you do.

you're a great friend, but if Zombies chase us, I am tripping you.
