Went to the Merritt Island NWR this morning. Winds were 20-40 mph but still a good number of Roseate Spoonbills were present. I assume that they are showing up for the Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival which starts this week. My wife was with me, and since birding is not her "thing" I did not have much time, but still got a couple of shots.....

Excellent images, Ira. Well done.

We have 25 mph winds here as well. Unfortunately the temp was in the teens. We went out for about 30 minutes and froze our butts off without a single image to show for it!

Nice spoonie shots. One day they are there in droves and the next day you can't find one.

I am looking forward to the festival myself. It's a good time. If you haven't already done so they have quite a few workshops / seminars / field trips you can sign up for.

Today, the spoonbills were at Black Point Wildlife Drive and around Gator Creek Road. I'm obligated to be working during the festival...........

Well, we had the winds, but the temps were in the 50-60 range. It just does not get that cold here...........
