OK. I'm going to a 9 day conference and training in Orlando at the end of April. I'm going to be flying in 5 or 6 days early so that I can take a look around and maybe find some places to shoot.

Can anybody suggest a couple nice places to shoot? Birds, wildlife, interesting nature. It doesn't have to be in or right next to Orlando. But should be with a 3 or 4 hour drive. I don't have to stay in Orlando until my conferecnce starts.

If you like flowers, Leu Botanical Gardens is pretty good. They have a nice rose garden. Of course, I don't know what it will be like this time of year.

If you go to www.floridabirdingtrail.com (external link) you should be able to find any number of locations. A trip to the Merritt Island area is well worth the time. It is less than 50 miles away.

I just noticed this post after I had sent you a reply. Take a look and see if you don't think that Merritt Island would be worth the trip.

If you want a small dose of nature.....the Boggy Creek Airboats provide some interesting shooting ops...as do their swamp buggy tours...some of the stuff is a bit hokey on the buggy tour...but you do get to see some diverse wildlife in a short timespan.
