Primrose Hill is one of London's Royal Parks, and pretty much across the road from another, Regent's Park. It was preserved as a public open space by parliament and is famed for its views over London. In summer it makes for a good location for a picnic!
It was a cold, windy, and gray day with only a glimmer of sun breaking through when I was up there a few weeks ago. As I started to walk down the back of the hill to find a warm bus I looked back and found the sight of people admiring the view to be interesting that I stopped to quickly take a few more photos.
The first one if my favourite. The person on the right balances out the space much better, and I prefer the lower angle making the foreground cleaner. I was a bit worried that the landmarks were lost below the horizon (it seemed that way through the viewfinder) so I stood up for the others, causing the concrete at the top of the hill to be included.
I stayed on the path as the grass was pretty muddy, otherwise it would have helped to have moved to the right to get a better angle for including both benches, as well as capturing the skyscrapers of the city and Canary Wharf in the background.
Exposure details are in the EXIF and they were all taken with the 70-200/2.8L (non-IS). Constructive criticism and comments always appreciated.
Michael.
