Hello, I currently have an sd700 and I'm thinking about getting an s3. The question about the s3 is, will I have manual control over the apertures and shutter speeds? Thanks.

Which do you prefer? I've had both and you can't go wrong with the features on the S3/5, as long as you don't have to put it in your pocket. 1D4, 6D, 7D2, Sony a6000 with Sony16-70, Rokinon 12mmf2, Canon lenses: 17-40L, 17-55 f2.8, 10-22, 50mm 1.4, 85mm 1.8, 70-200mm IS 2.8, 300mm 2.8 IS, 580EXII (3), 430EX, Alien Bees.

Which do you prefer? The S3 for sure just because of everything you can do with it and that 36-432 reach. But I find myself using the SD more and more simply because it's so easy to carry around - just drop it in my pocket and go. If you end up getting an S3/5, keep your SD700 around and you'll have all the camera you need (short of adding a dslr). 300 HS

He does have higher resolution but the S3 still does great in that department and has much more atristic freedom. I'm getting a DSLR soon but will still never get rid of my S3.
