WANTED: DIGIC3 Daughter board

OK after several hours of post processing I got thinking, it takes my PC several seconds to process a CR2 file, yet both my DSLRs can do several a second? Why it is that little dedicated processor the DIGIC3.

So how about Canon release a daughter board for RAW processing?

Actually, one could make use of the massively parallel array of GPU units found in the NVIDIA GeForce8 video cards. These provide 20-30x the speed of a typical CPU for some specific purposes including (!) image processing.
