Beautiful ironwork.
Magnificent bridge

Pity they were so unimaginative with the hand rail.
Completely out of character.
At least it's easily rectified.

My thoughts exact Richard when I saw that. I did wonder if that handrail was a later safety addition, it just seems out of place with the rest of the bridge work.

It says it's part of a three span bridge so expect this is probably missing some design bits.
But even a coat of black paint would be better.
A proper extruded iron channel painted black would be more in keeping even if it's not cast.

I agree the wooden non-painted handrail does not look right at all.........

Nice, but you might straighten it out. Fixing the horizon will probably cut off the back portion of the bridge, but still better to have a level horizon.

Just FWIW, this image might convert to B&W quite well with something like Nik, where you can crush the blues out of the sky (ie - turn them black with an orange filter or just use the color channel slider), bump the greens & yellow for the trees (still B&W but adjusting the individual channel brightness), then brighten the bridge with a series of selective control points (also a touch of structure for local pop). Foreground is a little bright so I'd drop a control point (or horizon mask when you're back in LR or On1) and increase contrast or lower the brightness a little.

This trestle was once part of the Boston and Maine Railroad. It's seen here spanning the Saco River in Conway, NH.

Glimmerman:
The picture was taken while riding the train. Had to take it fast or you were past it, no time to get the best framing.
I almost missed it as it was.
