Love this, especially complemented by the buildings behind.

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

That's a very well composed image, quite difficult to find something workable in the confusion, so props!

I doubt that I would recognise, or like, Singapore now compared with my 2 1/2 years there in the late 60s

My ambition for a good while is to grow old disgracefully. So far my wife tells me that I am doing really well!

Everything is different now all over the world. Some things have improved, and others haven't. If you have images, maybe you can make a thread called "Reminiscing" and telling us why the picture, the time, or the location was special to you. I'd like to hear your stories, and also those of other people who helped to create a more peaceful, but more boring world.

Nice looking bridge.... but... do you know why they could not have made the walk way straight and flat to make it easier to walk on?

Unfortunately, I don't know. But I can offer an interesting video from the repair of this bridge, which was made from May 2018 to May 2020. A truly unique technology was used to replace the original bridge structure with a new one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtbuokVaA68 (external link).

Thank you for the video! I do not have time to watch it now, but I did save it for later!!

Stone me !!! I have seen swing bridges, but never one like that one. That is an extraordinary way to rebuild a bridge and power to the elbow of who ever came up with the idea.

As for the footpath Inspector. Do you have no sense of adventure my man ;-)a A few beers before crossing and I'll bet it looks as straight as a die?
