Beautiful image. I'm curious, why use f/14?

Thanks... I was happy with this. Not a great deal of post on this either. Very slight temp/tint adjustment and a radial filter for the bridge exposure/vignette effect.

Thank you.

Not reason in particular really. I wanted to make sure I had focus across the whole image. I didn't want to go all the to F22, and wasn't sure F8 or 11 would cut it. I just ended up at 14. I also started earlier in evening and it helped keep me off bulb setting. f16 moved me to bulb at the time. This was taken when it was much darker, and I had no light except nearby street lights. My glasses were in the car, so I just left my settings where they were. LOL

My ambition for a good while is to grow old disgracefully. So far my wife tells me that I am doing really well!

I went back to my home state this weekend and visited Babcock State Park. My wife is enjoying my photography outings when she comes along. Not that I'm any expert, but she's actually learning quite a bit. She uses her iPhone which takes amazing pictures for a phone.

This is hers. I thought it worthy of posting.

Yep. I take my nice camera (it's just an old 40D, but it's what I've got), and she takes pictures of me taking pictures. Sometimes, it's really disappointing how much better her phone photos are than what I'm taking.

Rainbow Bridge on Historic Route 66 in Southeast Kansas. The bridge is a single-span concrete Marsh arch bridge and is the sole surviving bridge of this type on the entire length of the former highway. Two other Marsh arch bridges were also located on US-66 in Kansas, both over the Spring River. It was built in 1923.

They're attractive bridges.
There's one here, then the tie beam kept getting in the way and after one of several scrapes it was assessed the beam wasn't needed for the bridge to survive. It's still there doing its job about 40 years later.
Looks better without it.
Didn't realise it was a patented design.
Just assumed our in-house bridge designers had come up with an interesting design.
It was built around 1914 couple years after the patent
