Not even pedestrians are allowed on this bridge, which is probably a good thing.

North Bourke Bridge is Australia's oldest movable span bridge. This bridge is one of the most historic bridges in New South Wales. It is the sole survivor of the first two lift bridges built in New South Wales.

Opened on 4 May 1883, this lift bridge was designed by J H Daniels and modified in 1895 and 1903 by E M de Burgh, both Public Works bridge engineers.

Built at the zenith of the River Trade, its construction was begun by David Baillie and completed by McCulloch & Co.

The 1895 modifications led to improved designs for subsequent lift-span bridges.

The North Bourke Bridge was designed and constructed at the height of the River Trade era when the principal mode of transport for Western NSW and the Riverina District was some 200 paddle steamer-barge combinations operating the Murray-Darling River system.

It served as a Gateway structure for 114 years before being bypassed in 1997.

Located three kilometres North of Bourke on the Kidman Way

Had to think(?) a minute about the second photo.
A fun ride when it swings?

Hi Richard - I'll try to translate some information, hopefully it'll be understandable :-). I know very little English myself, I use various programs for translation.

The stone bridge in Rabštejn nad Střelou is probably a Gothic road bridge over the Střela River on the northeastern edge of the former historic town of Rabštejn nad Střelou. The bridge was probably built between 1335 and 1340. The bridge in Rabštejn would thus be older than Charles Bridge in Prague and would be the second oldest surviving bridge in the Czech Republic after the Písek Stone Bridge. The last major reconstruction of the bridge took place in 2017-2020.
The bridge is a favourite location of Czech and foreign filmmakers. In 2011, it was also the scene of a remix of the Personal Jesus video by Depeche Mode.
The bridge is 55 metres long and 4.3 metres wide.
The bridge is made of coarse-grained sandstone (the lower part of the bridge is made of smoothly worked blocks) and rough quarry stone (the upper part of the bridge) and slate, while the upper part of the parapet wall is covered with granite slabs.
