Great shot and evening light. I didn't realize you were in Austin. You been here for awhile and I just never noticed or, like the rest of us, came to Texas as fast as you could?

Thanks.

GM, I moved to Texas about 4 years ago, but was dormant on POTN for much of that time. I was in NYC a long spell before that.

The Medway Viaducts are three bridges or viaducts that cross the River Medway between Cuxton and Borstal in north Kent, England. The two road bridges carry the M2 motorway carriageways East-West and West-East. The other viaduct carries the High Speed (HS1) railway line from London to the Continent.

The Château de Chênonçceau spanning the river Cher, near the small village of Chenonceaux, Indre-et-Loire. During WW2 south of the river was free France and north was **** controlled. A lot of escapees were able to escape across the bridge formed by the chateau until the vichy took control of the south.

This bridge is the last preserved Empire chain bridge in the Czech Republic. It originally spanned the Vltava River near Podolsk in 1848 and served until 1960. Since the late 1930s, however, a new bridge of reinforced concrete has stood directly over the existing bridge. After the filling of the Orlík dam, the bridge would be submerged and therefore it was decided to carefully dismantle it, document it and place it on a site outside the flooded bank, then it was moved about 20 km westwards to its present location on the Lužnice River near the village of Stádlec.

The basic bridge structure consists of 4 chains arranged in two pairs. They are placed on two stone pylons, gates 13 metres high. The bridge deck consists of oak planks, newly installed in 2007.
The bridge has been completely reconstructed. Only vehicles weighing up to 1.5 tonnes are allowed to enter the bridge, and bollards at the bridge entrances also limit the width of vehicles to 2 m.

It looks lovely Lubos and thank you for the information. It's good to know that somebody cares about the past and is willing to preserve it.

The Tarr Steps is a clapper bridge across the River Barle in the Exmoor National Park, Somerset. A typical clapper bridge construction, the bridge's listing assesses it as medieval in origin. The bridge crosses the River Barle.
