Small wooden bridge found at Flatford Mill, it was once home to the English Romantic painter John Constable.

Over the past few years, the bridges that have been erected in our area have not been painted, they are left to rust.
Here is an example of a foot bridge found in a local park.

Nice stonework though. I think the rustic look of rusted steel and greyed, unpainted timbers is the current vogue. Interesting to see what the rusty steel is like in 50 years.


Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

That's what is called "Weathering Steel." The composition of the steel is intended to develop a light patina of rust, which then protects the underlying steel (unlike normal rust, which then continues eating the underlying steel). Popular because of the elimination of maintenance associated with powder coating or painting.
