A silly question from one who lives 12 degrees from the equator. Do they cover bridges like the one above to prevent them being blocked by snow?

Wow, interesting. Here in Australia's Northern Territory we have annual averages of 8.5 - 10 sunshine hours per day, 21-23 MJ/m2 solar exposure per day and annual average maximum temps of 32-35C (90-95F), and I've never seen a covered bridge. :)


Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

The A6 road bridge Toome, Co. Derry, Ireland.

Also known as the RodaĆ­ Mac CorlaĆ­ bridge. Named after an Irish patriot, hanged from the original bridge in 1798. History around every corner.
