The old Baily bridge left standing over La Taute at Carentan, Normandy. This bridge was built under shell fire by the US 300th Combat Engineer Battalion to replace a bridge destroyed by the retreating Germans. The bridge was named after Major John Tucker who was killed by enemy shellfire on the 27th of June, 1944.
