Where this guy was swimming was 80% slush ice and this is a salt marsh. These ducks are still being shot at till the end of the month making them spooky! What I do is find a way to make this rig (w/ or wo/ the BushHawk) comfortable to carry and have the exposure set and lift and follow and shoot as if it was a shotgun! When I setup in one spot I find something to lean the lens on, most times it is my knee. Holding a 500 up to your eye would not work well with the limited field of view. I set these 3: M, AV and TV for various light conditions that might be encountered on each outing. Maybe if I shot in one place per outing a tri and gimble might be better.
