I live in a small town of about 420 people...no mail delivery and a volunteer fire department. The fire in these pix was engaged by our local fire department just as I arrived in town yesterday. Eventually, more than 12 trucks/engines from across the county responded due to the freezing temps and need to truck in water (no city water!). It was quite the big deal...fortunately no injuries.

Very nice. #4 is especially good, IMO.

Great captures. Love number two, just wish the whole truck was in the frame. Number 5 is great, I'm used to setting up tender shuttles and portable ponds haha.

BTW, even larger towns have volunteer fire departments, so that doesn't really have much to do with it. I'm a volly in my town of 25,000 residents covering 43 sq. miles and we have very few hydrants...but on the flip side I'm a part time paid firefighter in an all career town of 6 sq. miles with hydrants.

5 & 6 are my favorites. Nice sharp colors and they tell the story.

I like the #4 aswell.

But I also like the last one alot! It gives me a feeling of the camaradery that exists between the firefighters, and the feeling of a job well done.

You can tell it's a small town. Urban police would have you 1-2 blocks away from the fire.

Nice series of shots. Being a ladder co engineer, I like the ladder shot. I would have been nice to have thew rest of the truck in the frame.
