Just needs to be priced less than the SD850 and I'm sold! Or is it replacing it? 'Cause the SD850 seems to be disappearing. Last Shot Photography

Are we sure it's not replacing the SD850? Be stupid but price is the same. SD1000 has dropped nicely though, might end up picking up one of those. Wish I could get the SD870 for the wide angle, oh well. Last Shot Photography

I just see the SD1000 for around $170 and paying $80 for IS in that does not have any appeal at all. Last Shot Photography

Then the price of the IXUS 70 (SD1000) has gone from £199 to as little as £110, so the IXUS 80 IS (SD1100IS) gives pretty high hopes.

OrangeJoe Junior Member 27 posts Joined May 2008 Location: Ulster More info | I bought an Ixus 80 IS for my parents. It's an incredably easy to use camera and it controls the amount of flash superbly well indoors. My mother suffers from a nervous disposition and the camera deals remarkably well with her hand shake. I originally bought a Panasonic TZ3 for them and was hoping it would be the complete camera, with the wide angled lense and large zoom. How wrong was I?

The only reason I did was because it didnt cost me anything to do so. The IS is IMO barely noticeable, and the extra MP (from 7.1 to 8) is useless. But it is a little nicer looking... I'm quite impressed with the movie mode in this camera, you can do 60FPS at 640x480. This is only one of the very few Canon Digital Camera's that can do this if not the only one. I don't know where you get 60 FPS from. The manual says 30 is the highest frame rate it does at 640x480. Michael Swann
