Here are a couple of shots from yesterdays shoot and I added the little logo and design splash just to see how it would look in a flyer/cd cover type situation.

3 Vivitar 285HV's triggered with cheap-ebay remotes sigma 17-70 lens on a canon rebel XTi body.

IMAGE: http://www.jacobthephotographer.com/mezo/IMG_2947web.jpg

Here is a rough setup of the shot: Main light above camera left with shoot through white umbrella ( poor mans softbox), rim light camera right behind subject, Back light with blue gel bungee corded on the downstairs railing.

And here is the good ol ABR800 ringflash on camera with sigma 17-70 on my rebel in one of my many visited spots... Im getting a bit tired of the spot BUT everyone wants to use it so who am i to complain its all about what the customer wants :)
camera settings: f/6.3 - ISO100 - 1/125 - 25mm

Here is the same pic but with a 1 min photoshop job to get rid of the ring in the glass which should i go with? ring or no ring glare (if I get rid of the ring ill go back in and do a proper photoshop job of removing it )

Great pics and thanks for the explanation of the lighting. That really helps.

Hey jake curious to know, when you bought your ABR800, what accessories(moon unit,gel/filters, grid, ect) did you get with it? Or did you just buy the ABR800 package? Also, how do you power your ring unit? Sorry for the "ask 1000 questions" but I'm really interested in purchasing one in the next week or so and I want to know everything about it and what I would need for it. THANX IN ADVANCE!!! BTW SWEET WORK!!!

I really like the lighting in the first shot ( I really need to get out and practice more). The first is my favorite. When it comes to the ring...I have to agree with the other...remove the ring. Great work!

Nice shots. I prefer no ring reflection on the glasses. As far as the pose, I think it being a simple pose doesn't present trite feel.
