heyya POTN,

i was looking into purchasing a fisheye, and i decided to drop 30 bucks on a fisheye adapter for my kit lens. i found some cheapo one from a local photog that bought it from ebay.

i know these are generally really shunned upon, but the results i have been getting from the 18-55 + adapter combo is really quite impressive. although i've only owned it for the past 30 mins, i will let the pictures speak for themselves!

100% crop

granted, the aperture was stopped down to 6.3 (1/40 shutter, iso200). the pictures wide open are very acceptable also.

im going to go out on a limb, and say it is almost as sharp as my friends peleng 8mm.

anyways, i believe its .42x so if i am calculating correctly my 18mm kit lens becomes effectively 7.56mm?

im going to go play with this thing again :D if theres anything specific you guys wanna see just holla!

my adapter doesnt have the imprinted text on the front, but it looks really similar.

^ definately, i was always shunned from buying these products. but i guess im glad i decided to try this one out before spending $300-$600 on a real fisheye.

plus this one autofocuses and the peleng doesnt :P
i just wish it would fit 77 mm threads vs the 58 mm on the kit lens. then i could use it with a wide variety of other glass.

of course, with a FOV on any fisheye this wide, there will be flare introduced in the image as you can see it in some places.
