Hi-

I have a new PIXMA Pro9000 printer that I am trying to print a 9" X 36" panoramic from a cut sheet of roll paper.

I can only find settings for up to 13" X 19". Is there a way to setup the printer for custom lengths of paper?

Thanks,

MDL

Have you dug into the info on front loading instead of top loading the paper...?

I'm not sure this printer is setup to to that type of printing. My manual states that the front tray can use 14 x 23 paper.

I just gave the manual a read and did a web search. I think you are limited to 18.7" long. Still pretty big. :)

Wow, you guys are FAST! Thanks for the responses.

Yes, 19" is large, but after just paying $36 for a 8" X 30" print at the local shop, I was hoping to be able to do this sort of thing myself.

Any other ideas?

This just in from Canon...

From: Canon Support - Color BubbleJet (colorbj@cits.canon.com)

Dear Mr. Lindley:

Thank you for your inquiry. We value you as a Canon customer and appreciate the opportunity to assist you with the Pro9000 printer.

The longest this printer would be able to print is 9"x 23.39". To do this you must set it as a custom paper size. To create a custom paper size:
1. Click on the Start button, then Settings, then Printers. (For Windows XP click Start, Control Panel, Printers and Other Hardware, thenPrinters and Faxes.)
2. Right click on your printer icon and select Properties.
3. Choose the Page Setup tab. (If no such tab exists, then choose the General tab and click on the Printer Preferences button.)
4. Click on the Page Size drop-down box and choose Custom. Note that this option will not be available if Borderless printing is selected.
5. Set the paper size in the Custom Paper Size window and click on the OK but ton.
6. Click on the Apply button (if it is available) to save and the OK button to exit.

We hope this information is helpful to you. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance with the Pro9000 printer.

Thank you for choosing Canon.

Sincerely,

Stephen

I had the same question. Have you tried this yet? Is there a way to go beyond the 23.39" limitation?
Thanks,
Rich

Try qimage, that might help you a bit. Canons are not the best at printing panos....they simply don't do it very well.

I have owned many this is a disturbing issue for me to say the least.

After all this time, you would think they would update the driver or add the functionality as newer printers are released.

If you want want longer prints, buy an Epson. Canon sucks with their drivers. I pestered them about this same issue with the i9900 and they gave me the same lame-ass response. With the availability of 13" x 38" papers, they should update their drivers.

My next printer will be an Epson.

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.
