Let's get ready to rummmmmmmmmmmbllllle!

IMAGE: http://www.lestinto.it/wp-content/img/cast.jpg

Ok, for fun I will not name what images are what. If anyone has been reading the board these days you'll be able to figure it out. I think by page 3 I'll fess up. So get this puppy to page 3 damnit!

And no, I won't force traffic to my blog for this one, you get it here. But I'll put it there anyway. NOTHING done to these images. Opened up in Lightroom and DPP 3.2 then saved to .TIF. Opened in Photoshop CS3 afterwards to resize and %100 crop. "None" was selected for Lightroom. Standard picture style for DPP. These are simply opened and that it. No calibration settings. Like your Mom would open them and do NOTHING to them. No sharpening. Nothin!

Camera: Canon 1Ds M.kII
Firmware: 1.1.6
Lens: 50mm f/1.8
Shutter: 1/200th
Aperture: f/8
White Balance: Auto

Presented in sRGB

Ok - RAW converter #1. Resized to 1024. Second one is %100 crop.

The color in #1 is better, but it seems noisier.

I'm going to guess #1 is DPP because the noise in the 100% looks sharpened like the standard setting would do VS LR not sharpening so much at "none"

The first seems brighter, probably just more contrast, but a whole lot noisier. So image number 1 is DPP and image number 2 is LR.

When do we get to see processed shots Jason? ;) Page 4?

Cosworth,

Now why don't you use both methods and show the best possible quality of each. This way we can see how each handles proper processing.

#1 is DPP because Standard picture style has increased saturation and sharpening .

That's just what I was thinking. More 'detail' too (if that makes sense)

But here is processed. About 5 minutes each.

Guess.

The first is LR, the second is DPP.

They don't look much different from the ones in the OP. LR is more yellow and softer, DPP is warmer, noisier, and obviously sharpened.
