hello. for those who have used the ipod touch/iphone photo application, i want to ask, just how good is it? i intend to use it for clinical work (clinical photo review) and the main reason i am thinking of this device is because of the touch interface. no 4 way button to press, no click this to zoom, no stylus. just finger motions, which make it quite easy to navigate the photo, from what i understand.

the photos will be taken with a high end p&s (maybe a fuji/canon) then archived on the ipod/iphone. i am also understanding that it is very easy to sync the photos between the mac and ipod/iphone. is one able to sync full resolution photos, or just a small version of the photo?

i found it very difficult to search for just a photo-application review for the mac products, since most would review them as an entire gadget, and allot maybe just a paragraph for the photo application.

thanks very much.

I've had one since day one. Its a great little toy. Does a lot of stuff, very well. It still needs some refining.

One down side, for what you're wanting to do. It resizes photos, and you have no control. They are sized bigger than the screen, a bit, so zooming gives you a little more detail. But, at this point there is no way to store an original photo and view it in high detail.

just read that the creative zen vision w, archos media players and the epson P3000/5000 support bigger file sizes. i think the epson generates the best images, but is quite pricey compared to the others. any reviews/opinions?

thanks!

I've got an archos 605, which I've been very happy. Not really using it for photos much but the screen quality is very good and it will take whatever res you give it as far as I'm aware.

Archos IMO is the best. I used mine for photos until someone dropped it. Really awesome and the price is pretty sweet. Get a new one, and it has wifi. Aside from iphone/ipod touch being owned by Mac, I always thought people did everything to prevent fingerprints.

Not to mention for the same price of the archos giving you a bigger screen and more features or any other portable device, you get a heck of a lot more memory than an itouch. It's a toy for people with money IMO.
