Ok. I've been invoking the mystical powers of The Google and came across CHDK, as well as several short threads here on POTN. CHDK is a program, on the memory card, that runs (in the background, aka "hack") when using a Canon compact; allowing things such as pulling off a RAW file or getting insane shutter speeds. No permanent changes to the firmware.
No one has (yet) finished a program for the SD870 IS (specifically the Digic 3 processor if I understand CHDK correctly)
How do I finish one off?
Here is the thing: this camera has the option for long exposure .... 1sec to 15sec in various increments.
It would have been an easy matter to have the function go the other way as well, such as forcing a a faster shutter speed but noooooooooooooo ....
anyway.
Tips/links/etc? Right now I'm interested in forcing a faster shutter and pulling RAW files.
Just for kicks really
.
