This flower is from a lilly in our pond. It usually only comes out during the middle of the day so being a working type I don't see it. I Took a few pics today but due to a mechanical ( user ) malfunction most fo them didn't work. This is the only one I could resurrect so far. I'll try a few more later. 50mm 1.4 @ F9 with el cheapo extension tubes and natural light.

I like it, nice abstract feel.

It's not soft I would say, a lot of these sorts of subjects seem soft at magnification, look at the specular reflections, they are crisp.

Some of the out of focus intrusions from the top of the flower are a bit distracting I feel.

Thanks for the feedback guys. The out of focus intrustions are part of the flower... other than setting the aperture even smaller, I don't know how to deal with them.

You could snip them off with scissors. :)

Or possibly (and less destructively) hold them out of the way with some thin garden wire.

Sometimes you can't do anything about these sorts of things.
