Here are a few from the second game I shot yesterday. This time played on our "darker" arena. Comments appreciated.

Settings: ISO 3200, 1/400, f2.8, Custom White balance off "dirty" ice, RAW
Gear: 40D, 70-200 f2.8L
Vantage: On walkway behind seats and from in penalty box, NO glass in the way.

Thanks for the comments. I usually bump up the exposure a bit in PP so that they look "right" on my monitor. Perhaps my monitor is a bit off calibration. I'll check that since I notice that some images that others post are a bit dark!

Alright, here is my trading comment. You have caught some pretty good action. The overexposing of the ice is not a good thing, as some detail in the ice is good. I love that you found the light though, and you have frozen the action well.

My photos I expose a little over the incamera meter, and brighten in photoshop, about a third stop up, then I ten percent burn in the ice for detail.


My Gear: 30D, 400D, 50mm 1.8, 10-22mm 3.5/5.6, 18-55 (kit lens), 70-200mm 4, 70-200 2.8, Speedlite 430EX, Speedlite 580EX, Grips for both, ST-E2 Transmitter.
