Now that the XSi is out, I'm thinking about picking up another XTi. I had one but sold it when I bought my 40D, but I kind of miss the extra small size of it at times, and my wife misses it as well. But I have a couple questions....

First, has the price of the XTi come down since the XSi has been released? If not, do you think it will? Currently B&H lists the XTi @ $519 body only. It looks like they've added the XSi but with no pricing info yet.

Secondly, does Canon offer the XTi with the 18-55 IS? I've looked but haven't been able to find it.

Any info would be appreciated!

Thanks
Tim

I got mine @ Best Buy last wk w/the 18-55 kit for $ 699. and I printed up B&H price of $589. and they honored it. So B& H does have it.

I don't think BB offer the one with IS though. :(

I don't thinks so. Only on the 40D IIRC.

As you have indicated you can pick up a XTi body at B&H or Adorama for $520 ± new (cheaper for a Canon refurbished - $450 ±) and the 18-55 IS lens for $170 which would put you in the under $700 range. The BB is NOT the IS lens but the old 18-55 kit lens. The IS is well worth spending a few more $ to get.

60D - EF 50mm f/1.8 - EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS - EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS - EF 300mm f/4 L - Tokina 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 Fisheye - Canon Speedlite 430EX - PowerShot G12

My mistake, not an IS.
