I see these guys every time I leave the house & wanted to do a quick test of the 70-200 f/2.8 & 2X TC combination, so I finally shot them.

Wide open, full frame, resized & only sharpened USM 100 0.7 1.

Some unsharpened f/5.6-8-11 crops here: 70-200 f/2.8 & 2X TC combination "Test"

That looks strange for some reason. Looks like the birds are cut and pasted on??? Is it just me????

I really like the composition...just like in the human world, there's always got to be one non-conformist!

I kind of like the effect, but there is something wrong if it isn't an affect. :)

That looks strange for some reason.

I was shooting into the "Michigan sunlight" & opened up to keep detail in the birds, so the sky was pretty well blown.
I made a darker conversion from the RAW image & blended it into sky. My selection feather was most likely off a pixel or two, so it does look a bit pasted. The farther to the right you get, the more OOF the birds get, too, so the same feather will look different from the ones at the left.

Thanks for the comments. I posted the link to the test results above.
