Having shot with both, I'd take the 35L, unless you're just really into landscapes or something -for shooting people, the 35L is the way to go.

I'm leaning towards the 35L... If anyone has compared both, is one faster focusing than the other? Which one in general has better corner sharpness? I have a 5D. I spent ages comparing both and the 35 came out tops Veni, Vidi, Snappi

I have the Sigma 30mm, and I find at times that it's a bit too wide - especially for people shots, but that's just my personal preference. quickben Fairy Gapped ![]() More info | I have a 5D and the 35L. It is by far my most used lens. I used it during all of the weddings I covered last year for about 90% of the time and I use it all the time for indoor pics of my family. I love it. On my 1.3x, it goes either way, but usually the 35. But, thats just me. You have to determine which FL works best for you. Check your own shots, and see the FL you shoot most often. ahh yeah - should have saidd I meant re:FF body Veni, Vidi, Snappi

I guess they have to be based somewhere though. thatkatmat wrote in post #4805103 ![]() Wish I didn't live in Washington so I could get tax free gear from amazon ![]() Now....on the subject I think overall........The 35L is THE best prime I've owned, it is just fast, sharp and very predictable....It's my top lens on a 1.3 or 1.6 crop guess I just love the 50mm range for a walkaround......and when I want the shot and it's near wide to normal range, I put it on my 5D...great on the 5D for inside the house or smaller spaces, such as a low light no flash birthday party lens. I've never used the 24L but hear similar things about it.....Depending on what other gear you own, choose on FL between these two, I think neither will dissapoint Can't wait to get my lens...

ChucklesKY Senior Member ![]() 353 posts Joined Nov 2007 Location: Bluegrass, KY More info | I'd say on a full-frame 5D go ahead and get the 35L. I REALLY want both lenses some day. I am probably going to get the 35L first though. Even though it would be used on a crop-sensor camera. I actually ordered it for rental last night for a two-week rental. Should be here tomorrow! That may be a mistake because then I'll just have to purchase it! I believe if I had it it would be the most used lens in my bag. Gotta love fast sharp glass!
