Hello one and all.

i am just getting my things ready for a bridal show at the end of the month, and i am looking at getting an album prepared for all the Brides to see.

Trouble is, i am having a hell of a time deciding between self-mount, and matte based albums. I would love to hear feedback about either method. I personally think that the self-mount will likely look much better, but i am concerned about it being a pain to work with.

Also, do you guys have any suggestions for "parent albums", i have come across the idea a few times, but have not seen any good examples in catalouges i have. Thanks guys.

Matted albums have more of a traditional look and have been around for decades. But admittedly, when you go to bridal shows these days the big things are professonally bound flushmount albums. The matted books are still there, but they're usually towards the back of the table.

I attended a show 2 weeks ago and every one of the 25 or so vendors had prominent, bound, flushmount albums. I did not see any self-stick books there at all. A number of folks on this forum use the self-mount and are very happy with, but they tend to be more economical and a lower priced offering. You just have to use care when assembling.

I agree, it's either matted or flushmount.

If I may (going OT a little) and talking about "impressive looks" I still believe that a good 10x10 matted (yes, square .. but all 10x10 per page) is the most impressive. The flush are cute and everything but a good solid big matted with good prints in it is still impressive.

about the flush I admit that the other reason for me not to be thrilled about it is the time I need to design it. It really takes (me) forever to deliver. But that's me, of course. again is the same difference I see between a traditional album and a DVD slideshow (with a soundtrack): the flush is more like a DVD printed without the soundtrack.

sorry for going OT with this.

I hate the sticky pages, why waste a good photo to putting it to a sticky matte?
I do not even offer them, I only offer the "plastic sheath" type.
