EDIT: Unfortunately all my original image links are now broken. My photographs are now hosted at Flickr and on my website. Links to both of these sites are in my signature section.

Apologies for any broken image links that are now showing in any of my threads or posts.

Thanks,

Mike

:-)

Fantastic! Spectacular sky. The light on the rocks in the first one is sweet, but the wave in the second is WOW. The house looks like it doesn't belong, especially in the second one - have you considered dodging it to bring it out more as a focal point, or just cloning it out?

Good job on the exposure too, hard to expose this kind of shot well without a set of GNDs, but you nailed it.

Thanks Perry :-)

I don't normally use such short exposures, so it felt a bit unusual having to work so quickly! Usually I'm wandering about in the dark waiting whilst the shutter is open for minutes at a time

I know what you mean about the house. I could get away with removing it in the more silhouetted shots, but when there is more light it shows the other buildings on the hillside too.

I usually bracket my shots manually, so I have plenty to work with once I get home. It feels a bit like cheating by making a composite image in Photoshop, but I suppose I'm only recreating what I would otherwise have done with a GND, so it's a valid process.

Your second shot is spot on, really love it. That crashing wave really does it for me.

Sweet pics, love the dorset coast, hoping to go camping again near Lyme Regis this year!

Cheers

The colors in both are beautiful, but I like the composition of the second one better. The curve of the shoreline leads the eye into the photo and that wave is gorgeous! Nice job!

Thanks Pat, Darren and Becca. :-)

Pat, I'm glad my wave-capturing effort paid off! That was one of quite a few shots!

Darren, these were taken at West Bay, not far down the coast from Lyme Regis. :-)

Becca, I was a bit restricted with my viewpoint, so I'm glad I more or less got away with it!

What a nice sky!

I prefer the first because of the red reflection of the sky on the water. The dark area of sand in the second lets it down in my opinion.

Thanks George. :-)

We get some nice sunsets down this way too. I'll see if I can capture some of those soon. I'll have to remember to point the camera in the other direction though!
