:lol:thats classic. Oh and you spelled that right? Spell check thought you got her something else:shock:

It has been a lot of decades since you set them off with canon fuse. They use electric igniter's for about 30 years now but I remember the neighbors used to use fuse.I still play with those but I generally don't put the parachute in and fill them with some sort of pyrotechnic joy.

ROBORAPTOR (external link) website. That's how they spell it, anyhoo.

I'm old. It would have been over 30 years ago when I was playing with toy rockets. ;)

Hotel rooms are the ideal setup. They can go, make the meth and be gone before anyone knows what's up. And usually, things are cleaned up and LE is never aware of it.

We get a lot of that around here. And the "mobile labs", where they just mix the stuff in the trunk and let it cook while they drive slowly around the cemetary. The stuff stinks to high heaven when cooking, so they have to keep moving around (either in car or from motel to motel).

I thought you were joking too, how does that work then ?

I don't know anything about this but you need a kettle to make it?

Nope, no joking. I don't want to go into the details, but certain meth recipes are very, very simple. You can do a quick search on the internet and find out how. It's crazy. And the chemicals needed are all readily available (remember, there are 3 or 4 ways to make it).

That's it. I'm sleeping in the Jeep next time. I get creeped out about hotels anyway....

For the most part, hotels are gross. No kidding. Have you ever seen one of those UV light demos on the news? Let's just say you should never, ever lay down on the bed spread. You know how often they're laundered? Never.

I have a pet question for all you experts here. So my questions are: Do you know of any older cats that have adjusted to a kitten? Should I get one kitten or two? (to play with each other when Twink doesn't want to play, and they would have each other after Twink passes on). Should I get boy cat(s) or girl cat(s)? What breed? I have always wanted Siamese cats because I've heard they are so intelligent and sociable, but they have a rep for being hard to get along with. Any ideas??

A kitten is hard on an old cat in my opinion although I have seen them rekindle the fire in an old cat a bit. My old cat was big and still could thump the kitten good when he got tired of her. Two kittens would be fun but it will be like a mad house for awhile. Those little buggers can climb the walls all night. I find(generalization) boy cats get big and lazy and like to be lap cats, girls stay more lithe and have an independent streak but are sweeter in their own way. I have always preferred mixed ally cat types over pure breds. Everyone I know with Siamese have loved them but I have always thought they were kind of way crazy, have more of an attitude than an average cat, and good lord are they loud. Hope that helps.

Yep. For the most part, meth labs here have been virtually eliminated. Now that pseudo-ephredrine is no longer available over the counter. But there are a lot of those who still do the hotel room/car thing for personal use.

Well, that explains my cold. Even though we were staying at a condo and not hotel, per se. I was wondering why they instructed us to leave our bed linens on the floor, but not the bedspread. Apparently they just don't wash it... eww, yuk.

Yeah, they don't wash them. Seriously.

They might do them a couple of times a year or something, but certainly not routinely. And absolutely not after every stay. Look at the carts that the housekeepers roll around. Ever seen a clean bedspread on one? Nope.

There are fewer labs here since we enacted the law making that ingredient less readily available. We still have die-hards that go from store to store and buy the max, and then cook it in the last parking lot they land in. They have trained the stores to detect these people and I think there are also some sort of logs they sign now that can tip enforcement off as they are going from store to store.

Anybody remember the air jammers? They were little air-powered dunebuggy looking things ...

Yep, CJ had a dunebuggy, a VW Bug, and a motorcyle. He, his uncles, and mom had great fun with these. ;-)a

So are you saying the chemical fumes settle on the coffee machine? They don't actually use it right?

Oh and I have seen a luminol demonstration in a hotel room. Can you say little sailors everywhere? Ew ew ew ew ew ew.

No. I'm saying they use the coffee maker to make it.

The chemical fumes settle on everything, but I'm talking about making the stuff in the pot on the burner.

Or they just go to Mexico and get the ephedrine there. Takes a bit more dedication but meth is a huge problem and has spread all over the country.
